Even though Easter Sunday has passed, we continue to live in the joy and hope of the resurrected Christ.
By his resurrection, our Lord Jesus Christ gives his Church not only the promise of eternal life, but also his peace here and now. This peace is his gift, won for us through his suffering, death, and resurrection.
Because of Christ, sin, death, and the devil no longer have the final word. We are justified by grace through faith and reconciled to God. Even in a world marked by fear and suffering, we are given a sure and lasting hope. The victory already belongs to Christ.
This is the peace the early Christians trusted. It did not remove their trials, but it gave them courage to live in faith and face even death with confidence. That same peace is given to us today through God’s Word and Sacraments.
Freed from fear, we are sent to love and serve our neighbors, bearing witness to the hope within us. The peace of Christ holds us steady in this life and prepares us for the life to come. The peace of Christ be with you, now and always.
